This race is is almost a perfect hybrid of road and trail running. The first 3 km is paved and has good wind protection from the many trees lining the roads. The road turns into trail at the entrance to the golf course and takes you around one of the most spectacular views of Gull Harbour. As you approach kilometer 4 you'll emerge from the cover of the trees and look upon the south basin of Lake Winnipeg where you'll be cooled off briefly before the last kilometer of your race.
The 10K race takes you south past the North Shore Rd. and past the East Quarry where you'll run next to a lake view all the way up to the 10K turn around. On your return you'll pass the East Quarry and return next to the golf course finishing with a 2 km trail run around Gull Harbour.
The 21.1K race takes you south on Hwy 8 past the East Quarry where you'll run next to a lake view and follow the bike path all the way up to the turn around in Hecla Village, where you'll pass by a museum of vesels and steam equipment on display from another era. On your return, you'll see it all again from the other direction. You'll finish next to the golf course with a 2 km trail run along the golf course and Gull Harbour.
